PAYMENT
Customers without a credit agreement must deposit upon car pickup. All deposits are made by reserving the rental amount plus a deposit (NOK 10,000) on the customer's credit card. The reserved amount remains on the customer's account at all times but is not available to the customer. Due to automatic updates of toll passages from Fjellinjen, the contract is not settled until 2-3 days after return. After deducting rental charges, any toll passages, and fuel costs, the remainder of the deposit will be released. The released amount is normally available to the customer 1-3 business days after settlement. We prefer customers to use debit cards for payment; most cards are accepted.
CANCELLATION FEE
All bookings are binding. Cancellation must be made at least 24 hours before the scheduled pickup time. Failure to do so will result in a cancellation fee of NOK 450.
DEDUCTIBLE COVERAGE
Our rental prices include insurance. All rentals have a deductible in case of damage.
DEDUCTIBLE REDUCTION
You can reduce the deductible for an additional cost. Without deductible reduction, our deductible is NOK 10,000 for all vehicle types. Deductible reduction must be arranged at the start of the rental.
PICKUP / DELIVERY
By arrangement.
TOLL ROADS / AUTOPASS
Toll passages are charged retrospectively. Toll passages are subject to VAT.
PARKING FEE
If you are fined for incorrect parking, this is your responsibility and the fee/fine must be paid immediately. Note! Failure to pay parking fees will result in a personal claim against you.

I. RENTER'S RESPONSIBILITY
-
During the rental period and until the vehicle is returned to the lessor, the renter bears full responsibility for the vehicle and its use as if they were the owner, including parking and traffic violations. The renter is fully liable for all damages incurred by or to the vehicle (refer to lessor's Norwegian rental terms).
-
In case of collision damage, damage upon exiting, etc., the lessor or their insurance company may seek recovery from the renter if gross negligence or violation of duties specified in these rental terms is evident. All damages must be promptly reported to the lessor or their representative. If this is not possible, the matter must be reported to the police. Otherwise, the renter risks being held liable for the entire damage.
-
Theft, fire, vandalism, personal injury, and damage to animals must always be reported to the police and the lessor.
-
The renter's deductible is due immediately for payment (per current Norwegian rental terms).
-
The renter will be charged a deductible per damage incident. II. DEDUCTIBLE COVERAGE
-
The renter's responsibility for deductible and liability compensation under the preceding point 4 is reduced if the renter purchases deductible coverage at the start of the lease.
-
The renter cannot claim such coverage if it is not indicated on the rental contract.
-
Except for deductible coverage and lessor's deductible limitations, damage caused by negligence includes, among others:
A. Damage caused by improperly secured or loaded cargo. B. Burn marks or cuts, stains on seat covers, etc. C. Reversing without a spotter. D. Damage from rim-to-road contact. E. Damage from roof avalanches in designated areas. F. Impact damage to body/chassis from snow chains. G. Damage from driving in areas physically unfit for the vehicle's dimensions. H. Damage from driving off public roads or in restricted areas without written consent from the lessor.
III. RENTER'S DUTIES
- The renter must handle the vehicle responsibly and must not:
A. Use the vehicle for driver training. B. Take the vehicle out of the country without lessor's consent. C. Use the vehicle for illegal purposes. D. Allow someone other than the designated driver accepted by the lessor before the rental period to drive the vehicle. E. Use the vehicle for races, speed tests, or competitions. F. Tow other vehicles. G. Transport more passengers than the registered capacity. H. Drive the rented vehicle under the influence of alcohol, drugs, medication, or similar substances. I. Leave the car unlocked. J. Overload the vehicle beyond its registered capacity. If the renter breaches any of these duties, they are liable for all financial consequences of resulting damages, losses, and additional costs.
- In case of collision damage, damage from off-road incidents, or technical failure preventing continued use of the vehicle, the renter must promptly inform the lessor of the incident. If technical issues can be rectified within a reasonable timeframe relative to the renter's needs and the rental period, the renter cannot terminate the lease. In such cases, the renter remains liable for the rent until the vehicle is returned to the lessor, minus the downtime due to repairs. If the renter terminates the lease in these circumstances, they are responsible for expenses incurred by the lessor in recovering the vehicle. If repairs cannot be completed within the specified timeframe, the lessor decides whether to provide a replacement vehicle for the remainder of the rental period or to terminate the lease from the time the lessor was notified by the renter.
The lessor arranges for the vehicle's return transport at their own expense, and the lessor assumes no liability for any loss or liability incurred by the renter.
- The renter must ensure vehicle lubrication and oil changes according to lessor's instructions or when deemed necessary. Oil expenses will be reimbursed to the renter by the lessor upon presentation of receipts from a gas station/service center, indicating the vehicle's registration number and odometer reading. Lubricating oil, coolant, and tire air pressure must be checked with every refueling.
IV. RENTER'S FINANCIAL LIABILITY
The renter's financial responsibilities are specified in the lessor's current NORWEGIAN RENTAL TERMS and price lists which the renter accepts as part of this rental contract by signing this lease agreement.
V. LIABILITY WAIVER
The lessor disclaims any liability to the renter regarding loss of time, money, or any other consequences arising from or related to the rental agreement.
The lessor assumes no responsibility for damage to or loss of property left, stored, or transported in the vehicle during the rental period or after its return to the lessor by the renter or any other person. The renter releases the lessor from all claims arising from such losses or damages against the lessor.
Important.
Unpaid or late fines/fees will incur an additional 100% charge. We strongly urge you to promptly pay fines/fees.
In connection with your rental, we have reserved an amount on your card equivalent to the rental amount plus a deposit. Reservation of such amount is a prerequisite for renting a car from us if you do not have a corporate or invoice agreement. This amount is NOT debited from your account but is reserved on your card/account until the vehicle is returned and the rental agreement settled. The reservation serves as a guarantee for the amount you will owe after the lease period ends.
VI. RENTAL AGREEMENT
By accepting rental terms and conditions and submitting a rental order, this is considered a rental contract between the customer and supplier. The order is binding, and KBK has the right to charge the customer the entire or partial amount of the booking upon cancellation, including any invoice fees and/or expenses.
